Permaculture Veggie Gardens - Seed starting and understory planning/planting 4/16 at HM157 in Lincoln Heights (www.hm157.com)
An important aspect of a perennial polyculture (a fancy way of
saying permaculture garden) beyond the tree scape is the under story.
This is where all your familiar vegetables and many fruits come from.
Many of these are annual crops that live and die within a year. We’ll
investigate how to satisfy our palates while decreasing our efforts by
planting perennials (plants that live for many years) as well as our
familiar annual favorites. Learn the techniques of starting plants from
seed, planting seedlings, and rooting cuttings. Bring home your future
vegetable garden waiting to sprout and ready to change your yard into
dinner !
Class runs from Noon – 4PM. Do eat lunch before you come to class.
